The Royal Wedding Gift: Community Impact!

The world’s most watched wedding brings stories of William and Catherine’s courtship, the pomp and circumstances, the dress and of course the Royal Family.  When one is invited to a wedding, one of the first questions in my mind is what gift to give the happy couple.  With the whole world invited to this wedding (including the 1,900 invited guests that will be in Westminster Abbey), how can those wanting to express their best wishes do so.  In this case, the gift registry at Selfridges, Bloomingdales or Takashimaya is not the appropriate stop.  This couple, being much more aware and involved in the situations facing many people have opted to encourage donations to The Prince William & Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund.  They have designated five causes that are special to them based on their values and experiences.  They are Children fulfilling their potential, Support for services personnel and their families, Changing lives through art and sport, Help and care at home and Conservation for future generations.  There are multiple ways to donate, on-line, via a text message, by telephone and even by posting a cheque to St. James Palace.  “The couple hopes to create a legacy of community impact from the Royal Wedding.”  What better a gift than that?  www.royalweddingcharityfund.org
