Cambodian Children’s Fund

Earlier this week, Bob and I had a unique opportunity to meet a most selfless man.  He once was a privileged Hollywood film executive and now runs a program for some of the world’s most impoverished children in Cambodia.  Hi name is Scott Neeson.  His organization is the Cambodian Children’s Fund.  He left Hollywood in 2003 after experiencing this extreme poverty when on a vacation in Cambodia.  His center, which is located at a dump where many people live just outside Phnom Penh, has evolved from a daycare and emergency shelter for abused survivors to an oasis to play, study and eat in a secure environment.  The services they provide include food relief, clean drinking water, medical care, counseling, nursery, vocational training, maternal care and education.  The encourage sustainability and hire local women.  The program is designed to elevate these people who once lived and rummaged the dump for survival into a healthy, self sustaining, productive community.  I encourage you to learn more about Scott’s amazing journey and the Cambodia Children’s Fund at their website. http://www.cambodianchildrensfund.org
