Catalina Island Conservancy

My partner Bob and I made our annual visit to Catalina Island with our cousins.  Catalina is 26 miles across the sea and a gem so close but worlds away.  Although we were in the City of Avalon, 88% of the island remains in its natural state and is protected by the Conservancy.  Their mission is to be a responsible steward of its lands through a balance of conservation, education and recreation.  The island is home to more than 50 endemic plant and animal species found nowhere else in the world.  The Conservancy is committed to ensuring that Catalina’s abundant natural beauty is enjoyed not only today, but for generations to come.  www.catalinaconservancy.org
